20 Questions: Lakorn Challenge

I saw this lakorn challenge in Fia's blog and blobofcolour blog and I was so excited to answer it. I don't watch lakorn on a daily basis and I drop more lakorn than I complete them. So, this is great for me because I get to relieve some lovely lakorn moments and remind me all over again why i love watching lakorn in the first place. Thank you for sharing it!!

How did you start watching lakorns?
i watched one by Tik named Soda and Iced Tea because it was aired in the channel in my country but I wasn't terribly enamoured by it (it was a boring lakorn) and stopped for a long time. I picked watching lakorn after several lonely dinners at home and a sudden urge to learn my supposedly mother tongue. The foray into the world of lakorn began with Sood Sanaeha. What a perfect lakorn to begin with and it set the bar pretty high. I have never expected the characters to be multidimensional with character developments. It was funny at the right time, got my hearts gooeey the right amount and made me teary at the end. Love it!!

Lakorn fever for the first time. credits: asianfuse wiki
 Your all time favourite lakorn?
Game Rai Game Ruk. I was torn between GRGR and Sood Sanaeha. It was Sood Sanaeha that got me into the lakorn world but GRGR was the one that got me all feverish.
Your least favourite lakorn?
I normally don't finish the lakorns that I dislike. I tried real hard to finish Roy Marn because I read good reviews but I never got their chemistry and the nang ek was too much of a brat.
Your favourite lakorn OST?
Oh, this is difficult because I don't really remember the title of the OST. But it has to be one of the OST of duang jai akkanee. The duet with this big sized guy and a lady. Akkanee sang to jeed in one of the picnics. *I just searched it's by Pop calories and bowling:  Hai ruk dern taang mah jur gun*

The last lakorn you watched?
 Khun Chai Puttipat
What lakorn are you currently watching?
Hormones the series and Khun Chai Ratchanon.

A lakorn you looked forward to but disappointed you in the end?
Thoranee Ni Nee Krai Krong. Like I said I dislike bratty nang ek. And they took too long to finally fall in love. But the cinematography was great. *confession bear: did not finish it. was tooo boring*

What a wonderful surprise. credits: asianfuse wiki
A lakorn you started without expectations but loved it in the end?
Khun Chai Puttipat. Me? And a period lakorn?? Can't believe I loved every bit of it. This world needs more gentlemen!! I need my Khun Chais..
Preferred lakorn type (revenge, slap/kiss, boran, romcom etc)?
 Slap/kiss, romcom
Favourite male/female character?
Krong Kaew. She carries herself with class and finesse. And despite how many lemons life throws her, she makes a good lemonade. And, she is gentle but strong. She is independent and stands by her principles. And despite being able to catch a rich man, she still has her own dream of opening up her own business selling delicacies.
Least favourite male/female character?
The General in Khun Chai Puttipat. Sleazy old man!! He has the yuckiest lines too.
A lakorn character you’d like to be friends with in real life?
Krong Kaew. She just seemed like a real nice person. I'm sure I'll be a better person if I have a friend like this.
A lakorn character you’d marry in real life?
Charles from Game Rai Game Ruk!! Who wouldn't?? Provided he loved me just like how he loved Nang Fah.
Lakorns are full of psycho villains. Who makes your blood boil the most?
That General toad from Khun Chai Puttipat!! Grr~~
A lakorn character that is most like you?
This is tough. Because I am real and the characters in lakorn, well they are not. But if have to choose it's probably Lumpao (played by Toey J) in Sam Num Neua Thong (which i did not finish too.. :D ), just because we have the same profession, i really love animals and i'm quite chirpy myself.
Most memorable lakorn confession?
When Khun Chai Puttipat told Krong Kaew to give him a break so that he could love some thing else aside from him work/career as a doctor. And he sneakily asked her, "Don't you want to know what or WHO am I in love with". And a blushing Krong Kaew goes said faked annoyance "Khun Chaiii~~~~".

Most memorable first meeting of the main couple?
Alin and Kru Cook in Sood Sanaeha. They met for the first time because Alin made a fuss that the cook did not abide to her version of the Chef's Salad and Kru Cook is adamant that a Chef's salad is as the chef says. Its a good beginning for the lakorn because it sets the dynamics of their relationship for the rest of the lakorn.
Favourite lakorn ending?
Hormones the series. The ending is real sad. I would spoil it if I describe in anymore. Go watch!!
Top 3 couples in a lakorn?
Saichon-Nang fah (Game Rai Game Rak), Khun Chai Puttipat - Krong Kaew (Khun Chai Puttipat) , Id- Korya (Pan Rai Pan Rak)
Top 3 actor/actress pairing?
Yadech!!! James Jirayu - Bella R., Toom Tam - Charebelle.

Review: Yes Or No 2 (Thai)

I haven't been blogging for awhile because I do not have any interesting to share (plus in real life, I'm a pretty secretive person) but I felt compelled to write about something I saw. Something that moved me enough to open this dusty box that is my blog.

Yes!! I have finally watched Yes Or No 2! *dancedance*

Okay, Let me get this straight before I start. (I get this every time I talk about this movie). I'm a straight girl and I love man and their goodies. Just because I like this movie doesn't mean I'm have homosexual tendencies. Aside from the core theme of a lesbian relationship, this movie and its prequel depicts numerous universal issues affecting couples. And I felt it more for Kim and Pie because it's harder to be in a homosexual relationship with the stigma from society.

Summary:
In this sequel Kim and Pie are going off for internship for their course. Because of their different interest, they were separated by quite a distant. Pie to Chanthaburi and Kim to the Nan province. One to the sea and the other to the mountain, separated by the land and terrains between them. They say, distance makes the heart grow fonder. But then there is Yam, the 'other person', will the heart grow fonder or will it falter? In short, the movie just beckons the question, what happens when the honeymoon is over?

My views:
  • The story line
I love the storyline. I was never a believer of 'happily ever after'. The union of a couple is just a beginning of another tale. I'm sure a lot of couples will encounter this phase in their relationship. The phase in which you question your very first decision to be together and your compatibility. This is the phase that will break the couple if they are not meant to be. The turmoils that they encounter in the movie is so universal. After years of being in a relationship there are certain habits that used to be endearing are no longer endearing annymore. What happens when you are finally bored of your partner?

  • Love the actors, director and the writer (and the entire crew?)
Just like the first movie, the movie is light with sweet scenes that touch your heart. This movie is different from thai lakorns (drama) in which the characters are mostly one dimensional and acting can be very dramatic. The acting is very real. It was not overly dramatised, and perhaps because the main characters in the movie are relatively newcomers, there's a sense of vulnerability in their portrayal of the characters that makes them so relatable. I love Yam too. There is no nang' rai (villain) in this movie, every single person is at fault and faultless as it is. Yam could be you and me falling for someone that doesn't belongs to her. I guess the credit will have to go to the director and write themselves. The movie doesn't feel pretentious or preachy in anyway. All the lessons were delivered so subtly.  Although there were no monologues, the characters dilemma inner conflicts were evident in their face. So acting wise, I bought it!!

  • Kim and Pie the couple
I felt I was Pie. I know how she feels. (i'm always the baby in the relationship). Kim-Pie has great chemistry. I've seen male-female couple on screen that paled in their comparison. When I watched the movie, I just root for them because they look so cute together. :D

  • The ending  (There's no spoiler ahead but if you are the kind of person who doesn't want to know anything about the movie until you watched it, STOP RIGHT NOW. what the hell are you doing here in the first place?)
The ending left little to be desired for. Man.............I don't wanna reveal any spoilers but I just felt the ending could have been more polished. It just felt too rushed for me. I guess like the pupae leaving its cocoon, I'd expected for the ending to slowly resolve whatever issues they had head on and slowly unravel to be a butterfly that is their love for each other. Instead, I felt like they just came up with a conclusion in the middle of an unresolved conflict.

All in all, I love the movie!! I finished with a warm gooey feeling in my tummy.
Towards the end of the movie I actually find Kim cute..oops!! Hahaha.. What did I just say in the beginning?
